Elcon Construction is uniquely equipped to conduct waterborne scientific research, technical surveys, soil and sediment sampling virtually anywhere within the American Northwest's Columbia River Basin or similar watersheds.

With a cruise speed of 40mph and 240 gallons of extended-range fuel capacity, Elcon's Reel Easy can cover 680 miles before refueling. This offers not just great range, but the ability to remain onsite for hours conducting surveys or sampling operations.

Reel Easy features a shallow-draft, heavy-duty aluminum, river-running hull capable of tackling Class 4 rapids.
With its 12-inch draft Reel Easy offers unprecedented navigational flexibility and access to remote riverine ecosystems and numerous minor tributaries.

Reel Easy's shallow-draft and open-bow design simplifies beaching the boat nose-in. The forward aluminun landing ladder offers ready access to the beach making it easy to off-load shore sampling and surveying equipment.
Productivity is maximized as quick beach access makes fast set-up and knock-down routine.

Reel Easy's enclosed cab comfortably seats 6. Its interior offers plenty of workspace and easy access to the bow working area. A built-in "head" in the aft cabin answers Mother Nature's calls, while the Ray Marine Color Radar and CSI Wireless DGPS Navigation system take care of all technical needs.

The computer work station is located just off the aft deck work area and offers convenient interfaces with the Odom Hydrotrac HT 100 digital echo sounder. This Odom HT100 has an Echotrac MKII remote digital display and is compatibile with Hypack software.

The aft working deck is 9'-10" long by 7'-6" wide offering ample room to operate the winch and custom built davit system by Neil Malam Fabrication, Spokane.
The winch is Pullmaster Winch Corp's PL2 Planetary Hydraulic unit with a cable meter. Featuring a 2200 lb line pull capacity and as much as 745 ft of 1/8" wire rope, this custom winch/davit system is designed for mission efficiency and maximum adaptability.

Reel Easy is ideally flexible. Small enough to be easily trailered, yet large enough to support extended survey missions, this craft can be transported to a launch ramp located near your survey site.
Delivering the survey boat by ground transportation is much more cost and time effective and offers more productivity at less cost than a larger craft requiring water-borne or commercial trucking delivery.
